Education: ICON’s education program provides environmental education to hundreds of youth each year from the local Wehea Dayak community. This is accomplished through Rediscovery programs in the forest and an environmental education center in the village. ICON is also implementing outreach campaigns in the major cities in East Kalimantan to raise awareness about the importance of protecting Borneo’s forests. In addition, ICON is working with a local logging company on the development of an environmental education center for youth from villages near Wehea.
